Music

Experience the diversity of our music and understand the spirit of our worship. Rejoice!

Our music is diverse and inspiring, drawing from four Episcopal hymnals that celebrate Black history, amplify female voices, and promote justice—alongside the cherished traditions of the 1982 Hymnal and a few secular tunes that strike us as sacred.

Voices Of Our Church

I'm grateful St. Luke's gave me a place to bring my discarded past into the present.

Bob's music is extraordinary. Close your eyes and listen to the music at St. Luke's and you will find yourself closer to God.

Bob Navis – The Heart Of Our Musical Worship

We are delighted and blessed to be home to Cleveland theatre legend Bob Navis, Jr. For over 30 years, he has led musical worship at St. Luke’s, bringing his expressive talent and deep creativity to our congregation. Drawing from his vast musical experience—including original compositions—he weaves together a rich and dynamic worship experience. We are especially fortunate that he occasionally creates special programs, such as  Sing to the Spirit: Lenten Lessons from Broadway in 2025, where we reflect on how select show tunes connect with the themes of the day’s readings.

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises!”

– (Psalm 98:4, NRSV)

At St. Luke’s, we believe that everyone has gifts to share—with each other and with the world. Many in our congregation love to sing, and Judy Fesko, a retired church musician, had a gift to share. Almost spontaneously – the  St. Luke’s Pop-Up Choir  was born!

Every six weeks or so, choir members gather before the service, rehearse for a short time, and then lift their voices in song during worship. No long-term commitment, no auditions—just the joy of singing together. And when the Pop-Up Choir sings, they truly make a joyful noise!
