Voices of Our Church
I walked in and felt at home. When I’m here, these people make me feel whole.
The people at St. Luke's accepted me and loved me before I loved myself.
I used to feel like I was in trouble every time I entered a church. I never feel like I'm in trouble here.
There's a revolutionary spirit here: St. Luke's rides the cutting of edge radical acceptance.
I used to have shame about being loud and awkward. St. Luke's gave me a place to be loud and awkward. I have a feeling of wholeness here.
Everything lines up inside me in a way it never has in my life when I'm here.
St. Luke's gave me something I'd never had. However you view yourself, you are accepted for that. I love that we do that here.
I heard about the clothing store and I wanted to help, so I came and I liked it. Then I heard about the meal, so I came and I liked it. Then I came to church and I liked it. So I stayed. Now I'm becoming a member.
Whatever else is going on outside, St. Luke’s has it handled inside.
This is my happy place…we are a little out there and I like that.
I learned here that we have to give back when we can. You give me grace when I’m struggling. This is God’s work. What you’re doing is a beautiful thing.
You’re doing God’s work. You’re doing exactly what you’re supposed to do and I’m proud to know you. I feel accepted and safe. You’re very open-minded, I appreciate that. You taught me that not all religions are toxic. It’s good to have a religion that intelligent and accepting of everybody. That’s you.
