Rule Of Life
Grow in Love

1. We believe our purpose is to grow in love of God.
To grow in love of God, we gather weekly for worship, learning, and creative expression as well as direct service and justice, so that we can meet and love as many reflections of God as possible.
2. We vow to respect the dignity of every human being.
Through our service ministries we strive to ensure access to basic human needs. We welcome the opportunity to learn, see and appreciate the reflection of unique Divine creation in every person.
3. We believe that all people are a reflection of God’s love.
We respect all reflections of the Divine and do not require or expect anyone to behave or dress a specific way to be welcomed and loved at St. Luke’s.
Feed Community
4. We believe that community is a gift from God that we co-create.
So that we may participate in growing a healthy community, we welcome everyone into St. Luke’s who arrives with good intentions.
5. We believe that everyone has gifts to offer the world.
We strive to make space for everyone’s gifts, even (and sometimes especially) when it is not the “efficient” thing to do. We find places in our daily communal life for people to contribute to the mission and ministry of St. Luke’s in ways that feel meaningful and significant to them.

Nourish Spirit

6. We believe that all facets of life’s journey are to be embraced with open arms and expressed creatively.
We welcome joy and tend to suffering simultaneously. We make space to create and share deeply from our lives in community and through the arts.
7. We believe that God is bigger than anyone can conceive or imagine.
We hold space for many ideas of God. There are many right answers in our faith lives and only one or two wrong ones.
